A ‘Representative of an Overseas Business Visa’, also known as a UK Sole Representative Visa, is mainly used by those who want to set up a UK branch of a business. This type of visa is also used for employees of newspapers or broadcasters to stay in the UK for long-term assignments.

A Sole Representative Visa lets you stay in the UK for up to three years. After this period, you can extend the visa for a further two years. This visa type also lets you apply to settle permanently in Britain, after five years.

How can IAS help?

Our lawyers are experienced at assisting clients with their transitions to the UK as sole representatives of their business. One of our corporate lawyers will work alongside your company to ensure your application meets the highest professional standard. They will compile your evidence into a comprehensive application portfolio and write a detailed Letter of Representation to accompany it.
