1: The situation

Ben is a Brazilian national – he was visiting the UK on a business trip when he was offered employment and requested to start work as soon as possible.

Because it was urgent, Ben called our office to arrange an immediate Advice Session with one of our lawyers.

2: How IAS helped

Ben was put through to a lawyer who drafted a plan of action based on Ben’s circumstances.

We advised him that the immigration rules do not permit him to submit this type of application from inside the UK.

He was concerned that, if he were to leave the UK too soon, he would not be able to draft an effective application – we assured him that we would be able to assist him remotely once he had returned back home and that this is something we have done in the past.

3: The outcome

Ben was grateful that he could leave the UK sooner and have IAS take ownership of his application – this allowed him to get his personal affairs in order back home and visit his friends and family.

From the UK, we managed to source the relevant forms, work with his new employer to ensure that all of the information was correct and also select an appropriate date and time for Ben to attend an Application Centre in Brazil that would minimise his time abroad. His lawyer also confirmed that the company had the correct Sponsor Licence to employ foreign nationals.

Ben received his Work Visa shortly after he submitted it and is now happily working in the UK without any issues.
