1: The situation

Mauricio, an Argentinian National, had been studying in the UK for three years.

Just before his visa was about to expire, he was offered a position on a Postgraduate course which he was very happy to accept.

Running out of time and unsure what to do, Mauricio called into one of our offices to speak to speak with a lawyer.

2: How IAS helped

Our lawyer quickly drew up a plan of action for Mauricio, as well as creating a specific list of requirements and documents needed for the application.

Mauricio was concerned that, before the decision was reached on his application, his current visa would expire and he would have to leave the UK.

We assured him that as long as the application was submitted before his current visa expired, his leave would be extended pending the decision and he was free to study.

3: The outcome

Mauricio was successfully granted leave to remain in the UK for his Postgraduate study – what he thought would be a stressful and rushed process turned out to be a smooth and easy one.
