1: The situation

Gosia requested a call from us to discuss her immigration matter – she wanted to do an extensive two month tour of the UK to see the sights and experience the culture. If the opportunity arose, she also wanted to seek potential employers with the hopes that she may move over to the UK perminantly in the future.

She was worried that she would not be allowed to seek employment given that she was primarily staying as a tourist, and that she would have to rely solely on her savings during her stay.

2: How IAS helped

We called Gosia back, arranged an advice session and explained to her that, as she is an EEA National, she was eligible for the Free Movement provision in the EEA Regulations 2006.

We explained to her that this meant she could travel to the UK to visit for two months, and also seek work without issue.

We had informed her that her passport must be valid for the trip and that she was free to rely on her savings to fund her journey.

3: The outcome

On her travels, Gosia came across an Arts & Crafts Festival that ran throughout the summer months, travelling across the UK.

The festival offered her employment in the UK so that she could join their tour for the following years.
